FIRM NEWS

  • We are pleased to announce that our firm is launching a new program which is long overdue in this area. It's called, “Work it Out Mississippi.” The program will be administered by our negotiation specialist and certified mediator, Patricia Williams. This will be a mediation program designed to give couples the opportunity to work out their family problems directly through mediation and without the added expense of lawyers for each side. Our personal experience with mediation is that it works over 95% of the time. With our wealth of forms and procedures, we will be able to assist couples in working out their differences themselves with extensive savings of time, trouble and money. We anticipate that 90% of the cases will be resolved in one day of negotiation and that couples will walk out of our office with signed agreements and all the documents necessary to file and complete their divorce. The only thing couples have to agree upon before they start this process is to start the process. The rest will be worked out through mediation. We will be setting up a special web site to provide all the details. If you want more information before the formal launch of this program, give us a call.

  • CONGRATULATIONS CHAD KING ON TEN YEARS OF SERVICE AT CHINN AND ASSOCIATES!!!!

  • Mark Chinn continues to be at the forefront of the new national movement to kill the billable hour. He recently participated in a very popular American Bar Association webinar where he presented on the topic of “Dumping the Billable Hour, One Attorneys Experience in Moving to Value Pricing.” The Chinn & Associates use of value pricing has been very successful and appreciated by our clients, mostly because of the certainty that comes with the system, mission-oriented approach it fosters, and efficiency it encourages.

  • Holiday Office Hours: Our Holiday hours will begin December 15 and end January 2, 2010. Although we will be on “holiday staffing,” Mark Chinn will be available and “on call” the entire time. The office will not be closed except for December 24, 25, and 31, and January 1. Of course, whether our office is closed or not all staff members remain in communication with our clients through cell, text and email. We know that family problems don’t just appear between the working hours of 9 to 5.
